The Building Developments
The building programme was a major part of my tasks at Good Shepherd College. Here are some of our achievements: pass the mouse over the image to view the changes, click the image to view the enlarged version.

Our house was a three bedroom building situated next to the Staff House (dining room). It was pretty much just a house when we first arrived, but in due course it was turned into a nice home (which even looked OK from the outside).

The Staff Haus Win developed out of the need for more room on the staff house veranda, which was used each week for the midday meal. With the inclusion of the hauswin, it created a space which was peaceful and private; many staff members enjoyed just sitting there, although we tended to use it for more energetic activities: see Fishing for BBQed Sausages.

I started our back deck at the behest of our boys who thought that our family lifestyle would be greatly enhanced by its development; I agreed because I thought that it would be a nice thing for us to do together.

Staff House C was one of the major building developments that was undertaken during our stay at the College. It was a design project which I enjoyed greatly, and was very well received within the community. See The New Staff Units.

Staff House B was a late development, mainly because Staff House C was such a success and raised the standard so much that it was felt that the occupants of B did not want to be considered as second rate: so we altered the existing rooms to match those in C.

After most of the other development had been completed, Fr Kees asked me to develop an extension to the College Library: which in his mind was the second most important building on the College site.
