We'd hired an oven to cook the meat and the potatoes, we originally were going to have the same as the other boys, but the hire shop suggested that the oven was a better option than a spit, so we went with one of those. When we bought the rump of beef and pig, we asked the butcher how long the meat would take to cook and put it on at 2pm as suggested: searing it for 30 minutes then slow cooking the rest of the time.

It was obvious when the potatoes went on at 4:30 that the meat was cooking way faster than exected. We eventually had to turn it off well before the meal.

The meal was a simple affair in the end:

  • Roast Beef and Pork
  • Baked Potoatoes
  • Green Salad, Pasta Salad, Bean Salad & Carrot Salad
  • Bread Rolls
  • Lots of condiments
We were on a fairly tight schedule on the night to fit everything in, so desert was a mixture of 'finger food' deserts that were served between round 1 and round 2 of the Murder Mystery Game.

Punch was available as was a mixture of soft drinks and cold water (self serve from the fridge).
