Katoomba to Kanangra Walls: Our Itinerary

OK, we've blocked out a bit of an itinerary (shown above).

The walk out to Kanangra Walls we're planning on about 4 days to do the 44 odd kms, so not too strenuous :).

The boys are going to drop our car out to us at Kanangra Walls which will resupply the stores for our other walks.

Depending on how we're feeling and if the boys do or not stay, we may walk down to Christy's Creek. Looks like a nice 2 day walk.

The following week we'll do a loop out to Scotts Main Range and back up Gingra Range to Kanangra: about 50km of what looks like pretty easy walking (but I guess the proof of the pudding will be in the eating).

We're putting the final touches to the gear list and the menu. We've bought some new gaiters, specifically the Sea to Summit Quagmire, although ours use the eVent fabric rather than Gore-Tex (the sales lady said that eVent is lighter and more breathable - who knows ?)

I've loaded the routes into the GPS, we've bought the 1:25000 topographic maps (just in case) and of course we'll get an EPIRB for the walk (EPIRBs are available for loan from various places in the Blue Mountains)... all that's left to do is actually do the 100 or so kms :D

KenLooks good. It would be tempting to stay at Dex Creek for the last night, rather than carrying water for the last section.

PerryYes, that's probably what'll be happening... when we did the Great North Walk we stuck rigidly to the itinerary, but this time we're planning to go with the flow more and just enjoy the walk.

BenWow, that looks like a lot of fun. Makes the Six Foot Track look like a stroll in the garden.
